Sharron
Read-Lancaster

Sharron became interested in art when her son was born and she was a stay at home mom. She is a mostly self taught artist who is still learning every day. She would describe her art as playful and happy. She particularly likes the shapes that form with the interaction of various colors of the paint. When she views an abstract piece, she finds herself looking for hidden shapes, such as a bird, a bear, a flower, a face, etc. To her, abstracts are not static and she always sees something new that she did not see before. She loves both vibrant colors and the soothing and sophisticated nature of neutrals. She also works with modeling paste. The texture and two dimensional nature of the material form shapes and shadows that display beautifully, especially under overhead lighting. She currently lives in Hoover and spends her time painting and traveling.
