Mary Jean is an abstract artist and co-owner of Artists Incorporated in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. She began her painting career 30 years ago. Her love of art and constant desire to learn have led to her own contemporary style of abstract painting. Mary Jean feels that her role as an artist is to create paintings that evoke strong feelings and emotions. Abstract art has the potential to be powerful enough to accomplish this. She has  always loved color, and her art gives her the means to explore texture, shapes, and color. During the painting process, she lets the paint and mood lead her to the next step as she strives to connect with the viewer. She often uses products that allow her to create paintings that have an almost sculptural effect. Painting is an integral part of her life and makes each day an exciting adventure for her. Mary Jean’s artwork has been accepted into numerous juried shows and exhibitions, and won many top awards. She has paintings in corporate and private collections throughout the United States and in Europe. Mary-Jean is a founder and former co-owner (now retired) of Artists Incorporated Gallery in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
