Genie Season

Genie Deason grew up in Birmingham and has been a maker of things since childhood. She studied education during college and taught and tutored in Jefferson County Schools. She has maintained her curiosity for learning and discovery as she dabbled with all art forms throughout adulthood. She did not formally study art, but her art classes were always her favorite in high school and college. When her nest was emptied she began more creative exploration through making art of all types. Her delight is creating and experimenting and expressing emotions through her creating. She creates to bring joy to others and to hopefully shine some light, beauty, and humor into our world through her paintings, collages, and mixed media works of all sizes. She currently lives in Hoover where she paints from her home.
